Reasons for consultation
What we treat in the pelvic floor unit
If any of these sound familiar, specialist physiotherapy can help you.
Urinary incontinence
Leaking urine when you cough, laugh or exercise. Common, but treatable: specific training gives very good results.
Pregnancy and preparing for birth
We look after your pelvic floor during pregnancy, ease discomfort and prepare the muscles for the birth.
Postpartum recovery
Assessment after the first six weeks, abdominal recovery (diastasis) and a gradual return to exercise.
Prolapse
A feeling of heaviness or a vaginal bulge. Specific muscle work helps improve symptoms and slow progression.
Pelvic pain and pain during sex
Chronic pelvic pain, dyspareunia or vaginismus. A respectful, gradual approach, working with our psychology team if you need it.
Men's pelvic floor
Incontinence after prostate surgery, urinary urgency and pelvic pain in men. This is a men's matter too.

Frequently asked questions
Common questions about the pelvic floor
Is pelvic floor physiotherapy only for women?
No. At Clínica Apolo we treat the pelvic floor in both men and women. In men it is particularly useful after prostate surgery, and in cases of incontinence or chronic pelvic pain.
What happens at the first appointment?
We begin with an unhurried conversation to understand your case, followed by a functional assessment. Everything takes place in a private room, explaining each step and always with your consent. You will leave with a clear treatment plan.
When should I start postpartum recovery?
In general, from around six weeks after the birth is a good time to assess the pelvic floor and abdomen and plan your recovery. If you have discomfort before then, get in touch and we will advise you.
Can urine leakage be treated without surgery?
In many cases, yes. Mild and moderate urinary incontinence responds very well to specific pelvic floor muscle training guided by a specialist physiotherapist. It is not something to accept as normal because of your age or because you have given birth.
